Text Box:   Board of Directors Meeting  The Region IX Board of Directors held their first meeting of the year in Pensacola Florida.  The Northwest Florida Chapter of BOAF and the University of West Florida graciously hosted the meeting in the downtown historic area of Pensacola.   Region IX represents the States of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi.  Your officers for the current year are:   President, Ronnie Spooner, Florida Vice President, Bhola Dhume, Louisiana Secretary, Bill Carrigee, Mississippi Tom Dozier, Treasurer, Alabama Paul Antoine, Immediate Past President, Alabama   This was the first meeting held since the chapter received official notification for ICC President Steven Shapiro that the Gulf Coast Region IX Chapter had been granted official chapter status with ICC.  This recognition is very important to the chapter as it provides us an abundance of opportunities to better serve our members.   Doug Murdock, ICC Board of Directors member, and Mark Roberts, ICC Regional Manager for Government Relations were present to confirm that the ICC organization is committed to the support of its chapters.  Mr. Murdock presented a plaque to the Region IX Board of Directors officially recognizing the Gulf Coast Region IX as an official chapter of ICC.   The Board of Directors conducted a considerable amount of business during the meeting.  The By Laws Committee submitted a couple of by laws changes that were approved.  Several other changes were discussed that will be looked at by the committee and brought back to the next meeting. Appointments were made to the Nomination, Education, Legislative, Membership and Code Development Committees.  These committees will begin work on issues that affect our region.   All ICC Chapters in Region IX should be receiving a letter from Tom Dozier, our Treasurer shortly thanking you for your support and reminding you that it is a new year and membership dues are due.  The established dues for State Chapters are $500 and all other chapters are $100.  All members of chapters that join are automatically members of the Region.  Your financial support is greatly appreciated.   The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Friday April 4, 2008 from 8:00 to 9:30 AM. in conjunction with the Alabama Association of Plumbing, Gas, & Mechanical Inspectors 45th Annual Education Conference in Auburn Alabama.  AAPGMI's website is http://www.aapgmi.com/ This years Annual Region IX Business meeting will be held in conjunction with the State of Mississippi’s Annual Conference in June. Their Conference will held in Gulfport, MS., June 8-13, 2008. The BOAM website is http://www.boam.ms   The Region IX Chapter was formed to bring us together.
