The Nominating Committee developed the followingto assist those who are seeking Election or Relection as an Officer or as a member of a Board or Committee.

BOAF NOMINATING COMMITTEE
Scope
The scope of the Nominating Committee shall include the elected positions (Officers) of the Association as well as elected positions (Officers, Directors and Committees) of ICC and Region 9 Board. The scope shall also include the appointed positions of the Florida Building Commission and the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board.
Purpose
The purpose of the Committee is to review the credentials, education and experience of any potential candidate and submit by the next Annual Meeting, a slate of nominations for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer through solicitation of candidates and review of nominations. The Nominating Committee shall also be responsible for developing candidates for Board of Directors endorsement to fill upcoming seats on state boards, commissions, and committees, as well as ICC Officers, Directors and Committee seats.
Objectives
The Committee shall strive to accomplish those objectives established by the President and/or Chairperson that are endorsed by the Board of Directors. During the 2010/2011 term, those objectives are as follows:
- Review potential candidates and prepare a slate of BOAF Officers for the 2011-2012 term for consideration by the membership at the Annual Educational Conference in June of 2011.
- Review potential candidates and prepare a slate of ICC Officers, Directors and Committee members for consideration by the Board of Directors before the next ICC Annual Conference.
- Review potential candidates for vacancies on any of the State boards or commissions and prepare a recommendation for consideration by the Board of Directors before their next meeting.
- Administer the application form that advises any potential candidate of the information required for endorsement by the Association.
- Develop a strategy and procedure that advertises the positions available through the use of the print and electronic media.
- Review and promote potential candidates that foster and enhance the basic interest and principles of the Association.
Members
The Nominating Committee shall be comprised of 5 members appointed by the President, one each from five geographic distinct areas of the state. Panhandle, North East Coast, South East Coast, West Coast and Central Interior. The President shall appoint a Chairperson from amongst the group who shall preside over the deliberations of the committee and represent the Committee before the Board of Directors. The Committee shall also elect a Vice-Chairperson who shall serve in the capacity in the absence of the Chairperson.
Voting
Each member shall have the right to cast one vote on any decision made by the Committee. The Committee may ballot their vote by telephone, mail or email at the discretion of the Chairperson. A quorum is established with 3 members casting their vote and a simple majority shall determine the will of the Committee.
Procedure
Basic Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern the conduct and proceedings of the Committee
