Since it's inception in 1953, the Building Officials Association of Florida
(BOAF) has been dedicated to the building code enforcement profession. As
an organization, it is our goal to foster communication between all groups
associated with the construction industry. We believe that by working together we can continue
to provide a safer built environment.
BOAF's
bylaws , most recently amended in
June, 2007, provide
structure for BOAF's organization and the framework for its activities.
BOAF offers outstanding
educational opportunities throughout the year in various
locations around the state. All of our twenty local chapters each sponsor at
least one, two day program a year on current topics. This is in addition to the
local chapter meeting, many with educational programs, they routinely hold.
BOAF counts among it's strengths, the association it has with other organizations.
BOAF has membership in or is associated with the the International Code Council (ICC), the
Florida Building Safety Coalition, and
Building a Safer Florida,
Inc. to name a few.
BOAF's membership numbers well over three thousand. Most of these members also
belong to other professional organizations and bring to BOAF through their
memberships important links to all aspects of the building and development
industry.
