Several very important changes have been made to improve the program that you need to be aware of. One of the most important changes is a pre-registration process. Prior to starting your training, all participants must register with BOAF. Training performed prior to your registration, after June 1, 2010, will not count! This requirement becomes effective on June 1, 2010. For participants currently in the program and already involved in field training, we ask that you please fill out and file with the BOAF office, a pre-registration form by June. This requirement will allow BOAF to properly schedule classwork for those segments that are most needed. BOAF has been approved by the Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board to provide cross training programs to certified inspectors and plans examiners. This program allows Inspectors and Plans Examiners with Standard Certification to receive training that will qualify him/her to obtain a Standard Certification in another field as provided in Florida Statute 468.609(2)(c)(4).
BOAF's Training Programs were renewed by the Florida Building Code Administrators & Inspectors Board in April of 2010. These programs provide an acceptable alternate training standard for individuals, with the support of their employers, to qualify for examination in other licensure categories. It is reasonable to expect that an employer may require a service commitment for a predetermined period after facilitating completion of one or more of these programs.
BOAF is an approved DBPR Continuing Education and Training Program Provider #0001001
