This is a forum where you can ask questions of literally
hundreds of professionals with various expertise. More often
than not you will receive answers from various viewpoints
and professions, within hours. (sometimes minutes). You must
be a member to ask the questions, but anyone can monitor the
activity by visiting the Discussion Group Archives (see
below).
Invitational Only BOAF Members Email Discussion Group
This is a invitational email base discussion group for
BOAF members only. Click to link above to request an
invitation to join.
Employment Ads The employment advertisement pages allow you to quickly find
potential employment opportunities. There is both a
"Positions Available" page and a
"Positions Wanted" page. Anyone can post an ad and the
important, basic information will be listed as an index with
links to detailed information. There is even a feature that
allows you to enter your email address and be notified every
time someone posts a new ad or revises an ad.
Membership Benefits The membership benefits page lists some of the advantages of
being a member of BOAF. It also provides links to other
pages such as the BOAF Membership Application and
Scholarship Applications.
Quarterly Newsletters BOAF publishes a quarterly newsletter, "BOAF TODAY". This
publication is mailed to every BOAF member and will provide
you with the latest information regarding codes and
regulations that affect your duties and responsibilities as
a code official, builder or manufacturer.
FBC vs. SBC'97 Comparison This comparison is located on the SBCCI website and will
open in a new window. It takes each section of the Standard
Building Code 1997 edition and compares it with the Florida
Building Code. There are also sections for the plumbing,
mechanical and gas codes.
BOAF Position
Statements and Guidelines Occasionally BOAF finds it necessary to take a position on a
subject, or to issue guidelines in an effort to standardize
enforcement of a code or statute. You will find all of the
recent BOAF Position Statements and Guidelines on this page.
